In a stunning moment during a Thursday night debate, an embattled U.S. senator cast doubt on his opponents military and ethnic heritage.
Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), seeking to unseat GOP Sen. Mark Kirk in Illinois, invoked her familys military service while answering a debate question.

Where?
Ironic.
I haven’t decided whether I will vote for Duckworth or the independent candidate...I guess it will be whichever feels like the biggest “F You” to Mark Kirk at the time.
.
Brilliant!
Turn the senate over to the Rats.
Why didn’t I think of that.
Dumb comment on Kirk’s part.
Still, no way I’d vote for the Dem.
You have to wonder....where the GOP finds characters like Kirk and pumps them up for their positions. I can think of a dozen GOP senators who ought to be forced to return to their state, and fresh people brought in.
“I will vote for Duckworth “
Did I read that right????? I did not think there was a Democrat in DC that was worth a vote.
Why would you vote for her?????
Leave that spot blank. That’s what we are going to do.
Hey Kirk, go eff yourself. You can get your worthless nevertrump ass elected without our votes.
L
Seems like karma to me.
Did you watch the debate?
The Democrats are going to make him the Todd Akin of 2016.
Number of democraps who would ever vote for a conservative Republican out of spite for a dem they don’t like, ZERO, don’t be a damn chump.
From what I have observed , Duckworth is an awful person who happened to have served honorably and been terribly injured in combat. Her service and sacrifice is admirable, her time in congress has been a grudge match and her wounds a hammer to wield against opponents. Once installed, she will be difficult to dislodge.
What’s the different between having a full-time Democrat and one like Kirk who always votes the wrong way on everything?
If I thought Republicans retaining control of the Senate would make any difference I might vote for Kirk, but we know they squander every opportunity they have to do the right thing, and if Trump wins I’m sure Kirk will be right there with the Nevertrumps fighting anything he proposes.
Maybe undervoting sends the right message. Good suggestion.
No, I have a weak stomach.
I’m sure that whatever he said is being absurdly twisted by the rat media.
I’m also sure that any freeper attacking him for it would be defending someone they like for making an identical comment.
She’s a lying piece of garbage, it sounds like he stood up to her instead of cowering before the almighty crippled “hero”, good for him. He’ll probably lose but I hope he kicks her ass, I might be the only freeper voting for him, I hope some idiot here doesn’t directly cancel out my vote, that’s just depressing. Democrat supporters (no matter their stupid spiteful reasons) have no place here.
He really does seem like an all around idiot and is liberal to boot.
Do you live in IL?
If you did you would know that Kirk has officially renegged on his pledge to support Trump, and even brought in pledge breaking liar Kasich to campaign with him.
Because of his obnoxiousness during the election season, my concern is whether or not Kirk will actually support a Trump presidency...I have no proof that he will...I also question whether some of the others wayward #NeverTrumpers like Kelly Ayotte, Gramsy, McCain, et. al. will support Trump. If they won’t, then they are merely placeholders for the GOPe holding an incumbent’s advantage, thereby never allowing a truly conservative Senator occupy the seat....Perhaps they should not turn if they won’t support Trump Supreme court picks etc.
I really think question of presidential support should be a litmus test for all the recalcitrant republican senators and congress critters...
If they won’t pledge to support Trump as President, they don’t deserve my vote.
Oh and I have actually called Kirk campaign office TWICE about this...waiting for his official response or a call back...
Y’all do realize he votes to represent his state. If his voters want him to cast votes the way he does, would you want him to backstab them?
He only casts one vote that differentiates himself from Duckworth, and it’s a big one. He doesn’t vote for Harry Reid as Majority Leader.
