I haven’t decided whether I will vote for Duckworth or the independent candidate...I guess it will be whichever feels like the biggest “F You” to Mark Kirk at the time.

From what I have observed , Duckworth is an awful person who happened to have served honorably and been terribly injured in combat. Her service and sacrifice is admirable, her time in congress has been a grudge match and her wounds a hammer to wield against opponents. Once installed, she will be difficult to dislodge.

“Duckworth’s mother, Lamai, is Thai, but her late father, Franklin, was a Marine veteran whose family roots in this country trace to before the American Revolution. Tammy Duckworth was severely wounded in the Iraq War, losing her legs while serving as a helicopter pilot.”

The real problem is now the entire GOP and Trump will be painted with the same broad brush of this idiots comments/question.

There was a congress guy during the 2012 who said something equally stupid that caused who knows how many millions of women to not vote GOP.

Maybe he was told to do it by the nevertrump group to derail Trump too. Nothing would surprise me anymore. Man; that’s just plain stupid.

Kirk is RINO d*****-bag who refused to support Trump for being “too bigoted and racist” to be president. Looks like he just hoisted himself by his own petard. Scratch a liberal and you find a racist - ALWAYS.

The majority of present day Americans are not fortunate enough to have had ancestors who fought with Washington Mr. Kirk, and personally, you are just another damn LIBERAL RINO and we are better off without you, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and your entire cowardly pack of jackels.

Hope she beats you .

By the way, was your ancestor a member of the Conway Cabal? No? My guess is YOU would been.

Dirtball.

Beam him up Scotty.

But but but Senator Kirk YOU told us YOU could not support Donald Trump because of the racial attack YOU saw in Trump’s dealing with the judge in his Trump University case. I’m so confused Senator were you right then or are you right now?

Kirk can FOAD. This “My Party right or wrong my Party” bulls*** has got to stop. I’ll vote for the ‘Rat before i’ll vote for another RINO. Period.

BTW, I have heard rumors from second hand sources that say Kirk is still trying to win this campaign but internally his team believes he'll lose. As such, he is already putting out feelers to line up a higher paid lobbyist job for him in a few months.

I don't know if there's any truth to this. The numbers show Kirk is running ahead of Trump in every area, but still behind Duckworthless anyway. Looking at it objectively, his latest quip about her ancestry was extremely stupid and gave the RATs ammo they didn't need, and the damage was entirely self-inflicted. However, Impy has a valid point that IF Kirk was a conservative, people would be on here defending his comments tooth-and-nail.

I think the combine is most likely staying out of the Senate race, and doesn't "need" Kirk anymore since he suffered a stroke and is no longer effective at being the public face of "bipartisan" support for Obama's policies.

From my admittedly unscientific poll of fellow Illinois conservatives, I expect there will be a record number of voters who skip the Senate race on the ballot this year. (I also expect a record number of write-in votes for president, but most of them won't even be validly cast, and there is huge talk from disgruntled lefties about writing in Bernie Sanders for President)

“...Donald Trump’s latest statements, in context with past attacks on Hispanics, women and the disabled like me, make it certain that I cannot and will not support my party’s nominee for President”

— Mark Kirk

It’s quite the party trick how he can bit himself in the ass.
