And he found out that he could skate by on even this -- even this! But first -- the poll told him -- he had to stall for time. He had to lie about it for as long as he possibly could before coming clean.
There's the template. If it hadn't been for the blue dress, he'd still be lying about it.
Pretty sad that the template works, but apparently a majority of the people practice this in their daily lives, and think it's just part of the way life is. Not nice, but not criminal.
oh, it got criminal all right. She was retaliated against, threatened, and in the lawsuits he suborned perjury..
It IS criminal. Especially when people are the highest
government officials able to determine who lives and who
dies. Lying and deceit leads to other worse crimes and sins.
WHEN some associate or other SQUEALS and threatens the
subterfuge, there is generally always some lackey or the
other only too glad to assassinate the squealer - for a
price.
More and more I have come to believe that blue dress (and perhaps Linda Tripp) kept Monica breathing in and out.
It becomes criminal when you lie under oath. Sadly, that doesn’t always lead to a just outcome.
>>stall for time
Here’s how it generally works. Early on, the argument is: “We can’t rush to judgment until we have all the facts.” Then after enough time has passed, the argument is: “That is old news.”
By the time it becomes “old news” the public has either lost interest, or gotten used to it. And the implication is that it’s no longer relevant, if it had been serious it would already have been investigated, the VRWC is just trying to gin up trouble, we’ve been over that, we’ve been exonerated, there was no evidence of found to support the allegations, etc.
And BTW, “no evidence found” does not mean that there was no evidence. Just that it wasn’t found. Listen to Hitlery defend herself on numerous occasions. She LOVES that phrase. Because she knows the evidence exists, but that the investigators haven’t found it. So “technically” she isn’t lying in her warped legal-loophole-loving brain.
“If it hadn’t been for the blue dress, he’d still be lying about it.”
True, and that’s because, for most of the electorate, we believe what we WANT to believe. The Dems mostly wanted to believe that he was a feminist. His nasty behavior didn’t fit the script; so they really wanted to pretend it didn’t happen.
So yay for the blue dress. And for the handful of Dems who might have realized they had a phony prophet.
