Of course, Miller isn't a real Libertarian, either. Still, as the endorsement proves, Miller's views are still far more libertarian than big government liberal Bill Weld.
I think his presence on the ticket is a big part of why Gary Johnson is tanking.
That’s their only Senate nominee with half a chance to win, maybe the first one in the history of that party. Polls I’ve seen have Miller running 2nd to Murkowski, he has my endorsement.
Real Libertarians (and Johnson himself provide he actually wants to do well) must be disgusted with Weld, who has all but outright endorsed Clinton. I do think he’s hurt his ticket, making him the worst third party VP choice of all time because usually they are a total non-factor. Perot’s dude Admiral Stockdale saying “Who am I? What am I doing here?” as a joke during a debate is the last noteworthy one, 1992, I was sorta following politics in 1996 as a 12/13 year old but I don’t recall seeing or hearing Pat Choate, in fact I just googled him, I don’t think I laid eyes on him before.
The Johnson vote is collapsing as I mentioned before. He’ll still set the record for the party (1.06% in 1980) but he could even fail to crack 5%, RCP average has him at 4.6%.
