BAGHDAD, Iraq Donald Trumps favorability rating is sky-high here, where citizens are paying surprisingly close attention to the U.S. election and see the developer and political novice as the clear choice for the White House.
In dozens of interviews FoxNews.com conducted in various cities across the country this month with Iraqis from different religions and walks of life the overwhelming majority support Trump over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Many believe Trump would be tough on terror, and blame Clinton at least in part for policies that have destabilized much of the Middle East.
"America should leave the political correctness and be tough on these countries that finance terrorism," Nseeif Al-Khattabi, a Shia Muslim and governor of the Holy Karbala Province Council, told FoxNews.com. "We need a strong leader and if Trump needs me to speak at a rally I will come. If he follows his words and his strong stance and points his fingers at these countries that support terrorism, he will be able to stop it."
Another very highly-placed leader in Iraq's security and intelligence arena, who requested anonymity, stressed that the U.S. troop pullout in 2011 was a mistake, and said Iraqis are looking to the next administration to once again develop a strong military relationship

Makes sense. They’ve lived the results of Obama/Clinton foreign policy and aren’t in the mood for a sequel.
It sure does.
This is good. Very good. There will be a lot of opportunity to to move U.S interests into Iraq, after some horse trading with Russia.
We can negotiate for a military base there, away from the cities and west of the tigris and euphrates.
Negotiate with Russia ... You keep Syria and Lebennon quit and productive and we’ll keep Iraq and Kuwait and we’ll both keep the troublemakers in Iran under closeful watch.
Trumps not going to tie his hands behind his back when dealing with these people.
I love it. Love. It.
Or maybe leave imperialism back in the 19th century, where it belongs.

A Shia says something I can agree with.
Why would anyone in an oil rich country want to be occupied by the USA? I should know as I emigrated to such a country called Texas in 2012 that is occupied by the USA. There is one particular USA oppressive matter that is getting very annoying. Its called the IRS. They get 12.4% of my income for Social Security. They get 2.9% of my income for Medicare. They get even more of my income and 28% of every additional dollar of income from a totalitarian Form numbered 1040. And with ObamaCare I’d be better off giving them more than 3K per annum for the John Roberts tax than I would be to buy such a policy if I didn’t have a work-related group plan. Since moving to this country I’ve discovered that we could be pretty self-sufficient without that oppressive regime in Washington DC suffocating our economy. I’d prefer though for us to have a good solid workable Union. But oh my how its become an out-of-control mess.
