Maybe racist to say this, but, how many members of youth gangs, who are out in the streets doing God knows what, will want to get into these training programs? How many will stick with it? How many will stick it out, to get to the point where they get an electrician’s license or a contractors license?
Just in general, job training programs sound good. But haven’t we done a lot in this area over many decades, with mixed results?? What will this tollway program do any differently than other such efforts?
A job training program is a waste of time, energy and money when it is intended to train people whose dysfunctional cultural background prevents them from learning and applying even basic human functions like dressing appropriately and showing up on time.
