In one of the more absurd statement of this absurd political season, Joy Reid guest Michelle Bernard said it was "hubris" for Donald Trump to imagine that he was "akin" to American leaders who have been the target of assassination attempts such as Lincoln, MLK, JFK, RFK and Reagan.
How illogical can Bernard be? Whether or not Trump belongs in the political pantheon she described, can she possibly believe that he could not possibly be the target of a madman? And what of the lesser figures who were the object of assassination attempts, such as McKinley, Garfield and Gerald Ford? Would it also have been "hubris" for them to have been concerned?
At this point, the left will fling absolutely anything.
Here's the YouTube of Bernard's ridiculous statement:

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Anyone can be a target. So her ranting makes no sense, unless she is talking about how people are hopelessly controlled like “Would you kindly” by thinking only slightly off the liberal orthodoxy.
Actually quite the opposite - it’s been a long time since the Democrats put someone up that anyone felt was worth taking a crack at. At least GWB had a shoe thrown at him...
Ammo is expensive.
When the secret service tells you to duck and scoots you off stage....you might be an assassination target
This has blown-up in their faces rather badly.
Instead of making Trump look bad, it has generated sympathy and made him look even more like a leader.
Now, they have to denigrate him.
With [democrat] news people calling for Trump’s assassination, why shouldn’t we believe some disgruntled Clinton-bot would make good on the request?
One doesn’t have to be prominent like Trump to be such a target. But with the Clinton mafia I would put caution first.
Have they seen the “Friends of Bill” list of dead? Trump is no friend to the Climtons.
Nothing but another idiot trying to trivialize others.
Liberals are the most greedy, fascist, hate-filled, mean-spirited, envious, resentful, vicious, close-minded, violent, murdering, amoral, stupid, censoring, horse-punching, book-burning, ignorant, uneducated, unskilled, childish, prejudiced, racist, women-hating, man-hating, perverted, thieving, destructive, American-hating, Christian-hating, muslim-loving, communist, vulgar, dirty, smelly, regressive, restrictive, prohibitive, bed-wetting, cop-killing, and scared little lying thumb-sucking idiots God has ever created.
W had his car attacked and surrounded, I think it was in Canada, detailed in a book I read >10 years ago, maybe “Bias” ??
There already was an assassination attempt at a Trump rally earlier this year where a deranged, Brit, ex-pat attempted to grab a police officer’s service weapon from his holster. He admitted he intended to use the weapon to assassinate Mr. Trump.
Seems to me, by this woman’s reasoning, Trump is a greater man than Obama or Hillary!

Trump never had a say in what unfolded b ut that doesn't matter - CNN already told us that the guy was just a harmless "conservative republican that wanted to save us from Trump via peaceful means despite the now known facts that he's a DNC paid "disrupter" and has been committing voter fraud for the Dem side....
More than making Mr. Trump look bad or making him an object for sympathy, last night demonstrated how the left is desperate and without principle.
Citation to #11 above.
Proving once again that intelligence isn’t a Democrat’s strong suit.
And it’s this logic that she uses in her decision making...
First of all, your ignorance far surpasses you ability to influence anyone.
Secondly, Trump didn’t even SEE the protester, it was the Secret Service who grabbed him and hustled him backstage.
Thirdly, only the media has called it an “ASSINATION ATTEMPT”, everybody else has just said “protester”.
And finally, Trump was back on stage in just minutes, Hillary would have gone home for a week to further dramatize the event.
How many strawmen can you spot in this moron`s argument? I count at least three.
