Tuesday Test: America’s Morals
By Howie Carr - November 6, 2016 Whatever happens Tuesday, and I’m not that optimistic, at least Donald J. Trump’s campaign has exposed the utter moral and ethical bankruptcy of the American establishment from top to bottom.

They’re frauds – the Democrats, their media coatholders, the Paul Ryan Republicans, Wall Street, all of them. And they are so, so unhappy – they don’t just hate the “deplorables,” the “irredeemables” and the “bitter clingers.” They despise one another. They hate themselves.

From Wikileaks, we know the disdain they have for “medieval” Catholics and “needy Latinos.” And now we find out that John and Tony Podesta were to be feted at a “spirit cooking dinner,” which involves rituals so gross (and stupid) I can’t even mention most of them, although I will quote you the part about “Fresh Morning Urine Sprinkle Over Nightmare Dreams.”

And they think Catholics are “severely backwards?”

There’s an old saying, If you believe in nothing, you’ll fall for anything. First they fell for global warming. Now it’s spirit cooking.

We’ve long understood the Clintons’ breathtaking contempt for “the help” – Secret Service agents, the military, basically anyone in uniform. Now we’re discovering the Clintons’ supposed acolytes feel the same way about their masters. They say no man is a hero to his valet, and to the Clintons, we are all valets.

Doug Band writes a withering email to Podesta saying Chelsea is “not smart.”

Podesta replies: “You’re perfecting your skills for understatement.”

Neera Tunden exhorts Podesta to stay on Hillary’s case and “eventually (she) will sound like a human.”

I doubt it, Neera.

As Dave Chappelle, the comedian, told an audience in New York Friday night, “She’s not right and we all know it.”

She and all the people who surround here.

They’re these inside-the-Beltway, trust-funded supercilious snots from third-tier Ivy League wannabe schools who, as Victor Davis Hanson put it, “sound quite clever without being especially bright, attuned to social justice without character. Their religion is not so much progressivism as appearing cool and hip and ‘right’ on the issues…. Well-connected and mediocre…. They write and sound off about the buffoon Trump and preen in sanctimonious moral outrage….”

Even the beneficiaries of these frauds’ supposed largesse can see right through them. Remember that Harvard food workers’ strike last month? Here’s what one of them, a 17-year cook at the School of Public Health, had to say about her betters, in The New York Times of all places:

“I’ve had a lesson in hypocrisy,” wrote Rose Ines Rivera. “On my way to work each morning, I pass a building with the inscription, ‘The highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being.’… I serve the people who created Obamacare. But I can’t afford the health care plan Harvard wants us to accept.”

Wait a second here, Ms. Rivera, are you telling me that Drs. Jonathan Gruber and Ezekiel Emanuel are not on the level?

Even if Hillary staggers across the finish line Tuesday, does anyone really think she can put the genie back in the bottle? Half the country is checking out, has checked out already. Nobody reads the Hillary-worshipping newspapers anymore, or watches their crappy TV networks. They have not a shred of moral authority. The Clintons are so crooked they need corkscrews to get into their pants suits in the morning, and we all know it.

I’m not worried so much right now about the Second Amendment – Robby Mook and George Stephanopolous and the rest of the pajama boys won’t be kicking down anyone’s doors anytime soon, although higher taxes on ammo are certainly on the agenda. Via executive order, of course. Why go the constitutional route when Hillary’s new and improved Supreme Court will rubberstamp everything – Political Correctness uber Alles!

Banana Republic – it’s not just an overpriced clothing store in the mall anymore. We’re living in one, have been for eight years now.

If Hillary wins, it’s going to be a long winter for the Little Sisters of the Poor and independent filmmakers and anyone else who relies on the protections of the First Amendment.

As for the rest of us, these next few years are going to be a lot like they were for dejected Roman citizens in the fifth century A.D. The Empire’s over, the barbarian hordes have breached the gates, but if you can just get a flat-bottomed boat and flee to those swamps around Venice, maybe you can fortify the Grand Canal and hold out against the Goths a little while longer….

As has become abundantly clear, the Clintons don’t believe they are bound by any laws that inconvenience them in the slightest. After all, she’s on record in Brazil as saying that her dream is “open borders.” Which are of course against the law. But like Barack, Hillary wants to import a replacement population, one as amoral and shiftless as she and her followers. People who, you might say, don’t need no stinkin’ badges.

If you believe that we are a nation of laws, not men, if you want the laws enforced, especially “without fear or favor” as they used to say – then Hillary and her supporters denounce you as a, uh, racist, or something.

Hillary voters, as one of them bragged on MSNBC Friday, are “immune to this call of this, you know, schizophrenic, you know, psychopathic, um, bigot, um….”

John Adams once wrote of the new republic: “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Are we still a moral and religious people? Sadly, I think we all know the answer to that question, even before the polls open Tuesday.
