11 Democrats Who Could Defeat President Trump in 2020
Mother Jones ^

Posted on 11/08/2016 2:42:22 PM PST by TigerClaws

The first polls are about to close. And while Hillary Clinton seems to have the edge, there's still enough uncertainty that a surprise win could land Donald Trump in the White House.

If that thought horrifies you, don't worry—the next election is only four years away! It's hard to imagine Hillary Clinton making a third attempt at the White House. Joe Biden will be 77 years old. Bernie Sanders will be 79. But there are plenty of other Democrats who might take a shot, and if history is any guide, they could start jumping into the race as early as 2018. So here, in no particular order, is our very early list of the Democrats who might send President Trump packing: Elizabeth Warren

Hickenlooper scares the least.

He is not a slave to the unions (see Brown in CA), has an engineering background, knows how to build a business.

I can’t believe I’m writing about 2020. What is wrong with me?

Good Lord, this election is not over yet!

I’m not even close to ready for thinking about another one.

Sheesh, there’s desperation for you.

And it’s all meaning less cause if Trump does what he says he’s going to, this country will be in such good shape that no dem would stand a chance against his second term in office.

Dear surrey,

Two questions:

1. Who is Dana Perino?
2. What’s a ‘chickenpooper’?

At least five of their picks are non-starters. Booker is the only one I really fear at this point, because the press will kiss his ass like they kissed Obama’s.

It's funny that even Mother Jones is implying that Trump may win.

I think that Corey Booker is the best bet.

Compared to the others maybe. But he comes across as a big overgrown kid, so it may be hard for people to take him seriously.

What do I know, though? Obama came across that way to a lot of people in the beginning.

Most of the others have sort of passed their sell-by date. Kaine, O'Malley, Murphy, Hickenlooper -- old white guys -- don't appeal to today's Democrats.

Maybe Harris or Duckworth won't flame out and crash, but as first-term senators, they won't have enough experience by 2020.

Hickenlooper has generally been a pro-business Democrat as Mayor and Governor. I don’t think the Sanders voters would ever let him on the ticket.

Sending up the white flag and the polls haven’t even closed... Wow. Carter gave up before California closed... Will Ms. Diabolical do the same?

Their inside polls and focus groups are telling them to walk away from Illiarily and start working on 2020! They know that the American people will vote guilty for Illiarily today!

The verdict of Hillary’s jury will be announced Tuesday evening.

I just posted this Comment to the article...

The Internet may be about to prove that machine politics is evolving towards the dustbin of history in McLuhan’s electronic global village. With YouTube et al fast becoming a challenge to the top down hierarchical info flow of the centralized entertainment and information media, political party diktats will lose their 19th century force, possibly to the degree that an actual kind of informed self-derived anarchy can flourish and supplant ignorance and emotion in the political affairs of the nation. Whistle blowing may well become the new spectator sport, given the impact of Wikleaks on this election. The Democrat and Republican Central Committees could likely become a joyful nest of hackers rather than hacks, lol!

If Trump does what he said he would do, especially with the job and Black Community, NOTHING ON EARTH EOULD DEFEATHIM IN 2020. Onthe OTHER HAND, he will be 74. My guess is Pence would succeed him.

Not Booker. It’s the ben there-done that with the black thing. All 11 could take turns debating vp Pence on one issue at a time. Trump can taunt them on the way to the venue. I’d love for Pocahontas to go for it.

Didn't Michael Moore get fired from Mother Jones? Talk about two peas in a pod, what'd they disagree over?

How low can they each go?

Or was it because Moore was scarfing up all the free food stuff?
