They weren't wrong, Jim. They were lying.
It would be interesting to go back to the raw data on Michigan and Pennsylvania and see how much of an effect the weighting had.
I still believe that polling was doomed due to the "shame" factor. The MSM made people think that there was something wrong with them if they supported Trump.
I also believe that there were Clinton supporters who were ashamed to admit that they supported someone with such flawed character.
Thus, both "shamed" groups would have tended to hang up on pollsters.
I think a lot of polls were ‘cooked’ to create more enthusiasm for Clinton; but I also think that both the media, and the Clinton camp, have just been seriously out of touch with the average American. They’ve lived too long in their ‘bubble’.
And I think Kellyanne Conway was correct this morning, when she said that many Trump supporters simply didn’t want the grief and argument they’d face by voicing their support. (I don’t recall a single election before when people were actually afraid to have lawn signs and bumperstickers, as many of us were during this one.)
I feel a lot more free today, than I did yesterday. And I have a lot more hope for my Country.
Bingo!
