NY Times Admits Biased Coverage on Trump
Newsmax ^ | November 12, 2016 | Sandy Fitzgerald

In the letter to subscribers, signed by both Sulzberger and Executive Editor Dean Baquet, the pair said they promise to "rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism. That is to report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor, striving always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you.

.
"Because it demonized Trump from start to finish, it failed to realize he was onto something," Goodwin writes. "And because the paper decided that Trump's supporters were a rabble of racist rednecks and homophobes, it didn't have a clue about what was happening in the lives of the Americans who elected the new president."

I thought they admitted it before the election, but with unabashed pride.

In the letter to subscribers, signed by both Sulzberger and Executive Editor Dean Baquet, the pair said they promise to "rededicate ourselves to . . . report America and the world honestly . . . to hold power to account . . . to bring the same fairness, the same level of scrutiny, the same independence to our coverage of the new president and his team."

In other words, they are done going easy on the White House, now that it is in republican hands. They are going to attack President Trump in the name of holding power to account, just as they attacked Candidate Trump because he "didn't deserve fairness".

This is why decent people hate the New York Times. Journalists today disgust me.

When a conservative, a republican, or someone I trusted proves me wrong, I hold them accountable. Cruz earned my trust with his public positions over many years, and then lost it. I admitted my error and dropped support for him. Cruz tried over the past few weeks to make up for his reprehensible conduct (he doesn't deserve the term 'deplorable'), and I said he deserved some credit for that, but not actual trust. I'd like to think my positions are honest reporting. The NYT is nowhere near that level of objectivity.

If they were lying before the election, what’s there to convince us they’re not lying now?

And now, the paper is "bleeding readers — and money," said Goodwin, who admits he's "pained" by the rival newspaper's decline, and how it gave "all reporters a black eye."

Holy crap, they're printing truth! Will the wonders of a Trump win ever fail to please!

Starve all the liberal papers, and make them fail and go under. The American people deserve better newspapers than the NY Times.

I am 56. I grew up with newspapers. To me, there was a certain urbane, sophisticated aspect to reading a newspaper. I consider myself highly informed, yet I will not watch one second of television news (unless, let us say there is a low speed chase of an ex-football star who has been implicated in the murder of his ex-wife). Television news controls what you are looking at. But it also requires visuals. It will not provide depth to any story. But, a newspaper, you can peruse. You can scan the sports, read the editorials, check out the big stories on the front page, or scan the oddball stories buried in the interior. Do the crossword, look at the funnies. (sigh), I am from another century on this. I mean I do not know a single person under thirty who reads a newspaper. And when they insist on publishing garbage, well, if a news organization lacks credibility, than they are worthless. I doubt there will even BE newspapers in twenty-five years, and I will mourn their passing, to some degree, but crap like the Times has pulled only serves to hasten their demise.

“If this is true then Trump should get him on day one ,and then hand him over, plus seize his assets.”

But that would mean that the Sultzberger clan would have to agree to give up ownership. Maybe it would be better if the Slimes was just allowed to go broke.
