I’m sorry, doc. Oregon really is so very pretty.

Portland was the only large city that did not join forces with the FBI after 9/11 to combat terrorism. They almost paid for it in 2010, when the FBI caught someone planning a major terrorist attack. Now they have changed their tune on that subject and work with the FBI but are still majorly liberal on other subjects.

Shame on them for NOT joining forces against terrorism. They just didn't care. Sadly, they just didn't care.
The FBI took care of their safety ANYWAY.

Portland has a history of feral animals rioting and burning stuff...

The Panzer Pope, Pope Benedict, called it: RELATIVE MORALITY. He said it was one of the worst scourges of this time.

They are upset about Trump, so they are trashing a LIBERAL city?
Works for me! Hope they organize and burn SF to the ground next...

Apparently, you aren't aware of what San Francisco is like. It's so very, very expensive to live in...well, the ENTIRE Bay Area, that slobs like those who live in Portland simply CANNOT afford to live anywhere NEAR The City or the Bay Area.
The once-cheap-hippie Haight Ashbury hasn't seen a "hippie" in 50 years as the prices of those places is out of reach for anyone with a normal pay check.
Google the real estate prices. Check out what YOUR house would cost ANYWHERE in the Bay Area. Oakland Hills is a super posh part of Oakland, even.

Also, San Francisco is far more conservative, with a conservative Chinese mayor Ed Lee. The Chinese are both fiscally and financially very conservative. The San Francisco voters ELECTED him.

However, if you happen to loathe San Francisco, nothing I write will alter your opinion.
Freegards.

Actually, the local news TV stations are pulling their reporters back - some of them have been assaulted and gassed.

We’re driving in to Portland Tuesday for a Celtic Thunder concert at Keller Auditorium. We’re actually praying for heavy rain so that it might “dampen” the spirits of the protestors (anarchists).

This is good to hear - my SIL is retiring from the USMC in May. He has a job lined up in SF. They’re looking at Dublin or Walnut Creek.

San Francisco is conservative. Right.

56% of voters are registered as democrats. 9% republican.

The last time SF voted for the GOP presidential candidate was before I was born - 1956. And apart from Dwight Eisenhower, it hasn’t voted for the GOP candidate since 1924.

Since 2004, it has voted 85% for the democrat running for president.

Yeah, its expensive. Filled with rich liberals. Wouldn’t miss it if a tidal wave washed it clean.

BTW - my 2700 sq ft house on 2 acres would probably cost a lot in San Francisco...glad I don’t live there!

San Francisco got too expensive.
The hippies and other silly people have been moving out for many years. They can’t afford the rent (they are gradually aging out in rent-controlled apartments). New/young lefties cant find apartments here unless they have a high paying job, and that sort certainly wont risk that by rioting. So Portland has become the hippie city.
More or less the same with gays also; SF is much less gay than formerly, though the economic driver isnt quite as effective as gay people are more likely to find good jobs. The crazier sort is being driven out.
The biggest effect of high rent is on blacks. Nearly the only ones left are in public housing and SF doesnt have very much of that.

All true.
The MALE homosexuals often do stay in the city because there are TWO male incomes. Their combined income is usually greater than that of two female homosexuals.

Besides, as I wrote above, San Francisco has a Chinese mayor, Ed Lee. The Chinese are, by culture, very conservative, both financially and socially. They elected a conservative.
THEY also team up as families and buy a large house where all kinds of Chinese relatives come to the USA for our MUCH cheaper education. They then return to China because that is really where they want to be...with an American education and an improved English.
They still say "flied lice" for "fried rice," no "r" sound for the FOBs or CIAs.

Dublin and Walnut Creek are beautiful.
He can take BART into The City. MUCH easier and one can snooze on board.

My thanks to your son for serving.

Ooh Rah!!

My, how negative and nasty. Who needs you here? We sure don't.

STAY where you are in your huge house.
Spend your life:
* cleaning huge house.
**tending your huge acreage.
***Pay $$$ for cooling in the summer
****Pay $$$ for heating in the winter. Shovel snow. Scrape ice off your windshield. Use the ice piled up in your back yard as your fridge. Rake your leaves. Have four wardrobes for your four seasons. Freeze your butt off. Spend you entire winter indoors watching the tube and feeding your face.
I am delighted that you love it there.

Spew your anger there in Puckerbrush, please.

P.S. My little wooden two-bedroom, one-bath upstairs, and big room and one bath downstairs, double car garage is worth $1.4 million. I "googled" it as my next door neighbor moved away. He was a hoarder and kept falling over his stuff, so he moved. His house was the same size as mine but STUFFED with crap. His house sold for $1.2 million.

For SOME reason that you simply CANNOT fathom, property values are that high here. I guess, for SOME reason people prefer to live HERE rather than on YOUR 2 acres.
We both win....you're there and I'm here. I, however, wish you well and am delighted with my life. God has blessed me.
His works are wonderful and I know them well. Psalm 139: 14.

PAX TIBI.

Thank you - we are very proud of him.

He used to take the Coaster from Encinitas when he was stationed in San Diego at MCRD. They're returning from Okinawa in May.

“My, how negative and nasty. Who needs you here? We sure don’t.”

And America doesn’t need a city that votes 85% for government control!

“STAY where you are in your huge house.

Spend you entire winter indoors watching the tube and feeding your face.”

Not familiar with Arizona, are you? Good! The LAST thing Arizona needs is more refugees.

BTW - in the hottest part of the summer, my electric bill didn’t break $300. And I rode my horses, for fun, all summer long. And went jogging. Plan on a ride this afternoon, too. And my neighborhood voted 2:1 for Trump.

But you go on, believing SF is a conservative paradise. Lot’s wife loved her home in Sodom, too!

Even when things like that happen, sometimes they persist with the peaceful protest lie.
