Priebus’ decision actually came pre-convention. Romney invited Priebus to speak to a group of rich NeverTrumpers. Priebus brought them a simple message: Trump will win this with or without you.
This was weeks before the convention.

I remember this well.
And I also remember the night of Trumps victory in Indiana Priebus stating, “we have our presumptive nominee”, effectively shutting down further resistance. He did a good job herding cats in the most difficult primary in history.
Good enough for Trump, makes him OK in my book. Until proven wrong that is.

Thanks for reminding me of this statement. Priebus started flying around with Trump and attending rallies—and it changed him. He must have decided he liked winning. He’ll either be excellent in this position or, as others have pointed out, he’ll be replaced. My sense is A.
