“The States control who carries within their borders not the Federal Government.”

I am not sure that is so.

The “Shall not be abridged” clause looks like the Feds are making a fairly universal case. If the population has a Constitutional right to bear arms I can’t see where the states have a right to regulate that.

I don’t know that I want to live in a society where everyone feels that they need to be armed but that is actually a different issue.

Please note I am not a shooter.

I am pretty sure it does.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

See that big bold "free State". This is where the framers is implying the 2nd amendment is for the protection of the State and has nothing to do with the FERAL Government.

Where everything went off the rails is when the States did not put their foot down when the FERAL Government started up the ATF and started collecting money and issuing stamps for certain weapons.

Not only that, the States started up with their own "infringements" I don’t know that I want to live in a society where everyone feels that they need to be armed but that is actually a different issue.

Hey, feeling like they should be no, but being able to be, a great big resounding YES.

Please note I am not a shooter.

And I am. I have been one since I was about 4 years old. Killed my first deer when I was 6 with my Gpa. Quit hunting deer with a rifle when I was 10 and picked up a bow. Now, since age 55 I have went back to a rifle because of shoulder problems but only shoot long range (200-1000 yards) and pistol. I have worked with local and State 4H and other youth organizations to promote gun safety and our 2nd Amendment rights. The youth is our future and need to know what is available to them.
