Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hoped for a different outcome in last weeks election, but she made plain Monday that she accepts that Donald Trump will fill the Supreme Courts 9-month-old vacancy.
The 83-year-old justice said the most immediate impact on the court of Trumps election would be to fill the seat that Justice Antonin Scalia occupied until his death in February. President Trump will fill it, Ginsburg said in a question-and-answer session at a meeting of the Jewish Federations of North America in a Washington ballroom.
Ginsburg had criticized Trump in interviews last summer with The Associated Press and other news organizations, saying she did not want to consider the possibility that Trump could be elected. She apologized for her remarks soon thereafter.

I agree, but I hope he really refines it for picks like these.
We have to get solid people in there.
I agree.
Nice comments...
One other factor that stands out to me, is the vetting of these men in the first place. A candidate or president generally asks his staff to vet people. That staff can really screw things up if the staff members are moderate themselves.
Hopefully Trump has some fail-safes in place like Sessions and others who will review and give him excellent feed-back.
We need the very best here. This is so vitally important.
Honestly, I think this was Reagan’s problem. His staff really let him down with two of those appointments.
Trump ran on a list of (good, by all accounts) potential nominees. I love the fact of the list. The list was a risky move at the time, in the sense that each individual name on it constituted a potential target during the campaign. The more names he put out there - and there are actually two lists he put out - the greater the danger. But the Democrats didnt attack the list. At all.
Now, assuming Trump honors his campaign promise by sticking to names on his list(s), the Democrats are stuck with a situation in which they "coulda woulda shoulda" attacked at least some of those nominees. As it stands, response to any criticism of a nominee from that list can be, Why didnt you use that argument during the campaign??
If the Trump nominee is on that list, the Democrats' perennial out of the mainstream claim will be off the table.
Judge Moore could not get Senate confirmation.
I think that term limits for everybody should be on the table, including Supreme court justices.
“She must be a real genius to be able to figure that out all by her self.”
LOL. It will probably take a couple of months for the wise latina to figure it out.
Need to find the 40 year old version.
