Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hoped for a different outcome in last week’s election, but she made plain Monday that she accepts that Donald Trump will fill the Supreme Court’s 9-month-old vacancy.

The 83-year-old justice said the most immediate impact on the court of Trump’s election would be to fill the seat that Justice Antonin Scalia occupied until his death in February. “President Trump will fill it,” Ginsburg said in a question-and-answer session at a meeting of the Jewish Federations of North America in a Washington ballroom.

If she really cared about the direction of the Court, she should have retired 3 years ago when the Dems still controlled the Senate to allow Obama to add a third lefty nominee. Instead, she slept through 3 more years and now they are screwed for a generation. Typical Dem; all about themselves.

I hope you are right but I well remember some of the Republican Presidents picks that turned out to be just as liberal as the Dems picks. Remember Souter, Warren??

Why is this breaking news? Sun rises in east. Cats are finicky. British dentistry is sub-par. All as obvious as Ruth Buzzi's acknowledgement. 🙂

The goatess was good for something after all.

I won’t miss her when she’s gone and she can’t go away soon enough for me.

Probably not 7-3, unless Congress adds a seat.

A blessing that this old bat stayed on the court past the Obama years....she will be 84 next spring.

And now looking at 8 years of President Trump. She must be thrilled.

The only way President Trump will get any appointments to any job that has to pass through the Senate is if McConnell changes the votes from 2/3 to 51 to pass.

Commonly called the nuclear option, that Harry Reid threatened to pass a few years ago when the Republicans wouldn't go along with his "compromise".
