Some people believe Eric Garcetti saying Los Angeles is a welcoming city for immigrants means it’s code for a “Sanctuary City.” Those who have been victims of violent crimes of undocumented immigrants ask “where’s their sanctuary?”
The debate over sanctuary cities is hitting home for one Southland family.
Jamil Shaw Sr. doesn’t mince words about his stance on the issue.
His son, Jamil Shaw Jr. was one of the kids who was going to make it out of a tough neighborhood. A star football player, and a good student who stayed out of trouble.
In 2008, Shaw Jr. was shot and killed by 18th St. Gang member Pedro Espinoza, who was in the country illegally. The high school star athlete was just feet away from the safety of his home.
Since then, Shaw Sr. has been front and center in the fight against sanctuary cities....

The first person to be arrested here should be Police Chief Charlie Beck for not enforcing the law.
The police have openly abdicated their responsibility as bums are allowed to settle on any residential street they want while illegals run wild.
Beck may as well be replaced by one of those he coddles.
If the Feds start arresting mayors and city council members, this crap will stop dead in its tracks.............

Our leaders care more about illegals than about Americans harmed and murdered by them.

What debate, the House controls the Fed purse strings, just cut off their fed $$, and see how long Cali stays afloat same goes for any other big city blue state. They are all on the edge of going bankrupt.
Trump has it right start with the criminals, those in prison already are easily rounded up. Chip them and then deport to the farthest end of Mexico they can find.
It means sanctuary for law-breakers - NOT Americans.
Congress needs to act. Pass a law that makes it a Federal Felony for public officials to willfully violate or ignore Immigration laws.
Trump is right on the money. Criminal illegal aliens MUST be deported with all urgency. They cost our nation, our citizens billions per year. Incarceration/law enforcement, medical care, welfare benefits, auto/homeowners insurance rates, drugs...you name it.
Not to mention...they’ll take your life and that of your loved ones without a thought.
However many millions that is....deport them.
Why not get the victims and/or the victims next of kin sue the officials or the cities for being accomplices to the crime perpetrated. Put those officials in jail or make them payoff the victims.
How many phone calls do you think Archbishop José Gomez has made to Jamil Shaw or any other survivors of illegal alien murder victims?

Another reason why I left Los Angeles County in 1993 & will NEVER go back. I no longer felt safe- no matter the time of day.
However, I will go there long enough to help friends move out with a caravan of vehicles.
