Bill Ford, the Chairman of Ford Moters, called Donald Trump tonight and said he will be keeing the Lincoln plant in Kentucky- Not Mexico.

Love how they quote “union reps” as saying the moving of the Lincoln MKC to Mexico from the KY plant was never going to cost any jobs. Whatever. These people are highly paid liars. Anytime you lose a contract to manufacture a product at your plant it’s not good even if you are producing other things.
Holt Shoot! For real? That is awesome. Trump’s cachet just increased another notch in middle America.

I shopped the 2016 MKC a few months ago and the salesman told me it was “mostly” made in Mexico. Just anecdotal.
Ford never said the MKC was moving to Mexico, so there’s no way to tell if it is a victory. Ford did say it might move MKC production to allow for more Escapes, but they never said where it might be moved.

Not sure the salesmen knows what’s what. And it might be mostly assembled in Mexico, and the rest assembled in the KY plant.
During the campaign, Trump actually said this might happen as a result of his pledge of action.
Are you sure about this news? I haven’t heard anything from the drive-by media.
Is it a BAD thing to keep the assemble here in the KY even it is just a small part of what the KY plant assembles? Losing even the smallest bit of production can put people out of work down the line.

I’m sure they did say they’re moving it to make “more room” for Escapes. What else would they say! You don’t have to move anything to produce more Escapes, just expand the plant and employees in KY.

I understand that the plant in KY makes both the MKC and Escape. However whatever production of the MKC that it makes was going to be moved after 2018. I know the plant was not ever supposed to close.
