When was Lincoln on the table anyway? It was ALL small car production. Is there a small Lincoln based on the Fushion platform? Who wants a upscale Lincoln from Mexico, no brainer. Head fake?

Louisville builds Ford Super Duty pickups, Lincoln Navigators, Escapes and Lincoln MKCs. They were not in danger of moving.

Gateway Pundit is not a reliable source.

“We’re not going to do what we never planned to do.”?

But they’re still planning a small car factory in Mexico?
Screw Ford. I’ll keep driving my 20 year old Mercury.

The Lincoln MKZ is a Ford Fusion variant. AFAIK, they've always been built on the same assembly line. I thought the plant in question was making the smaller Focus model line, but perhaps it was both.

Regardless, the plant was never "going away", Ford planned to shift it over to higher-profit Ranger pickups and the new Bronco SUV. Sounds like a win for both Trump and Ford.

"Ford builds the Lincoln MKC small SUV at its Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky alongside the Ford Escape SUV. Ford had never said it was considering shifting MKC production south of the border. But the company confirmed Friday that it had been “likely” to move the work to Mexico in 2019 when its current contract with the United Auto Workers union expires.

“We had planned to move the Lincoln MKC out of Louisville Assembly Plant," probably to the Cuautitlan factory in Mexico, Christin Baker, a Ford spokeswoman, said in an e-mail."

The report I heard was that the small vehicle manufacture would still be moved to mexico but the plant in the USA would be used to make a different vehicle
