Its the Lincoln MKC not the MKZ. The Lincoln MKC is assembled in KY with other models. THAT ONE MODEL’S ASSEMBLY WAS INDEED SLATED TO MOVE TO A MEXICAN PLANT. The plant which currently assembles the Lincoln MKC in KY was not ever slated to close as they assembly other models there as well.
However the Lincoln MKC was indeed going to move their assembly to Mexico from the KY plant. Not now though.
I shopped the 2016 MKC a few months ago and the salesman told me it was “mostly” made in Mexico. Just anecdotal.
Ford never said the MKC was moving to Mexico, so there’s no way to tell if it is a victory. Ford did say it might move MKC production to allow for more Escapes, but they never said where it might be moved.
