It's certainly nothing to sniff at! A heated row has blown up in the Canadian parliament - over the use of the word 'fart'. It happened after Conservative MP Michelle Rempel accused the government of treating the province of 'Alberta like a fart in the room' over employment. But shocked Green Party leader Elizabeth May did not like the use of the word and asked for it be revoked.

I find it both instructive and dismaying that a tweet decrying this comes from a director ‘of one of Canada’s leading journalism schools’ contrasting this dispute using “With all eyes on Trump’s destruction of US politics and civil society”! Sheesh, even above the 49th Parallel, the STUPID exerts itself amongst the media!

I suggest a compromise: call it a poo poo.
I told a kid a joke and he laughed too loud so the Nun took notice and asked what was going on. When she learned that the joke had the word "fart" in it, she sent me to Mother Superior who pinned a note on my shirt about "using filthy language" and sent me home.
I was afraid that Dad would be really pissed and balked at telling him the word - for a while. When he heard it, he asked if that was the real story and I told him it was. He dragged me down to the school and into Mother Superior's office where he asked her what I had said. She told him it was too terrible to repeat and asked if I had told him. He told her I had, but he needed to verify it before he could decide on punishment - if I lied I might not be properly punished.
She finally told him that I had said the word "fart". He looked at her and asked if that was true and she acknowledged it was.
He then looked at her and said, Well Jesus Christ, what the hell's wrong with that?"
She reddened, I paled, and he grinned and took me out for a banana split (39 cents at the local Woolworth at the time).
He had no time for the prissy-minded idiots of the world.

Yes, Michelle Rempel is attractive.
Nature was certainly not as kind to Elizabeth May, but she does herself no favours when she acts like a prissy schoolmarm.
Perhaps she puts on this show to balance her previous drunken rant exhibitionism. That was very entertaining, as I recall!
In reality, she’s a great representative of Gulf Island hippies and retired civil servants, and probably keeps a more able lefty out of office.
