Mercury had talent beyond measure. He could take an entire stadium of 100,000 people, and put every one of them at centerstage, front. And, he did it effortlessly, like he was singing in the shower.

A Rock n' Roll Pavarotti, as it were.

His death was a utter waste. But, he wasn't the first talent to be a victim of their own excess, and I'm sure he won't be the last.
