“eliminate vast numbers of Federal regulations”

That’s the job of our Republican Congress.

We need fewer laws and regulations. We must remove needless obstacles to employment and economic activity.

To produce working drafts, I think we need to go back in general to the Eisenhower era laws and regulations as a basis for further work.

The Eisenhower era had the United States as modern nation and also the world’s leading economic power.

Those regulations and laws should be sensibly updated (current tax rates, SNAP cards[not food stamps]) and merged into fundamentally sound working drafts for proposed laws, which should have been done decades ago.

We also need to add in mainly Nixon-era consumer protection, environmental protection, worker safety and product safety laws. These should have maximum budgets of 1,000 8x11 12-point text pages each.

All this work should be done by Congressional aides with at least five years experience at drafting bills.

I agree. But someone has to go through the Federal Register page by page and eviscerate it.

Justice Thomas has rightfully pointed out the unconstitutionality of administrative law that takes the place of congressional legislation. Legislators have to reassert themselves, but the regulations themselves have to be withdrawn as well.
