The problem with Donald Trump's stance on global warming (CBS News "live science")

Is there reason to doubt climate change because some of the nation’s hottest days happened in 1898, as President-elect Donald Trump told the New York Times in an interview Tuesday?

In an exchange with Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and staff about climate change on Tuesday (Nov. 22), Trump said, “I have an open mind to it,” but later added, “You know the hottest day ever was in 1890-something, 98. You know, you can make lots of cases for different views.”

However, it’s misleading to single out a weather event — such as a particularly hot day in 1898 — as evidence for or against climate change, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Ocean Service (NOS).

Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that this rapid warming is not due to natural causes, but due primarily to the result of human activity, according to NASA.

Good thing Trump is canceling the funding for NASA for climate change research. (see other article, the link to which I am posting here as post 2.

Yet, the MSM intones “Climate Change — OOOMMMMM” whenever there is a hurricane or other severe WEATHER. Even though the last 10+ years have had extremely mild hurricane seasons.

They want it both ways, as usual.

Only fake science is based on consensus.
Real science has always been about challenging and questioning.

Where I live has been both glacial and tropical, before humans could do anything about it.

The climate on earth has always been changing, we are just along for the ride.

Temperatures have been much warmer, during the Roman empire and during the Minoan civilization. There were no SUV’s.

They know they were caught in the fraud of “global warming”, so they switched gears to “climate change”...more believable, but hard to make the case that it is bad. Some places are slightly cooler, and some are slightly warmer - and this is nothing new.

Years ago I was in San Fran, and some libs had painted a high-water mark on some building along one of the piers (as a warning about how high the oceans would rise). Since it had been painted years before, I asked one of the libtards there distributing propaganda whether or not the water should have already reached that point based on the original artist’s work. He just gave me a stupid look, and said it would take more time...

This when they continually cherry pick single events.

Manmade climate change is non-falsifiable.

It is not science, it is faith.

Real science has always been about challenging and questioning.

Precisely! When was Scientific Method discarded by the community of scientists?

The answer is when the first grant check cleared the bank.

Wait until all these “scientists” lose their grants. The MSM will call Trump names because he discontinued funding and he will simply come back with, “if it’s settled sci nice, there is no longer a need to find it.”

Watch their heads explod.

I been asking Global alarmist of the nearly one thousand peer review papers name one that claims there is a runaway positive feedback that is going to take place to due humans. Which is the argument of the Global alarmist.

There are none. Which means there hasn't been any science to indicate what they been claiming. There is no debate. Pierre L. Gosselin has been organizing this. First seen on Wattsupwiththat

My favorite is everywhere Obama goes he tells audiences “you see the effects of climate change yourselves here in (wherever)” But no one does and in 60 years I’ve seen no such thing.

a suggestion for Trump: before doing any interview with the media, make sure to get debate prep with Myron Ebell.

The 97% claim has been debunked several times, but NASA reposted it anyway. Perhaps NASA has a few activists pushing the regime's position that climate change is caused by mankind.

Climate change is caused by the Sun, not you.

Precisely! When was Scientific Method discarded by the community of scientists?

When our all-knowing (gag!) universities and "intellectual" elites decided to adopt what's called "postmodern science."

“Science attempts to describe the world independently of belief by seeking universal truths, on the basis of observation, measurement and experimentation. The postmodernist school of thought arose to question these assumptions, postulating that claims about the existence of a real world—the knowledge of which is attainable as an objective truth—have only been relevant in Western civilization since the Enlightenment.

"In recent decades, the movement has begun to question the validity of claims of scientific truth, whether on the basis of their belonging to larger cultural frames or through heavy criticism of the scientific method…

“…postmodernist thought has mostly gone unnoticed by scientists, despite its growing importance in the twentieth century. The origins of this ‘deconstruction' of the ‘Enlightenment project' can be traced back to Friedrich Nietzsche, who was among the first to question our ability to discern objective truth: 'In so far as the word ‘knowledge' has any meaning, the world is knowable; but it is interpretable otherwise, it has no meaning behind it, but countless meanings' (The Will to Power, 1883–1888; [1]).

"During the late twentieth century, postmodern philosophy picked up where Nietzsche left off. In his book, Against Method (1975; [2]), philosopher of science Paul Feyerabend argued that the progress of acquiring scientific knowledge is not governed by any useful and universal methodological rules, and summarized this ‘epistemological anarchy’ as “anything goes.’” Credit Marcel Kuntz, European Molecular Biology Organization

Renowned physicist Freeman Dyson:

“I’m 100 per cent Democrat myself, and I like Obama. But he took the wrong side on this issue, and the Republicans took the right side.”

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/10/11/freeman_dyson_interview/

To quote renowned modern Renaissance man Jerry Pournelle, “A consensus that doesn’t include Freeman Dyson is not a consensus.”

You may not agree with this and that is ok. I see this spiritually. This warming Climate crap is driven by anti-God people. They think we are in control of Weather and that God’s design was flawed or non existent. I used to fly commercial a great deal. I would sit on a window seat and look over the earth from 36,000 feet. A huge city would be a spot on the earth. I quit taking my life that seriously at 36,000 feet. I concluded that we are nothing. We have no impact at all. One Low pressure system wipes the slate clean somewhere every day. In Genesis, God tells us to “TAKE DOMINION” over the earth!! The earth shall not take dominion of me. “Global warming” and undefined “Climate Change” is “take you down” bull shit. Resist and defeat it unmercifully.
