The New York Supreme Court has ordered Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to turn over a document containing a secret agreement with other states and environmental activist groups regarding the witch hunt being carried out against Exxon and other climate skeptics.

Schneiderman had fought the release on the grounds that the document wasn't covered under the state's Freedom of Information Act. But one of the targets of the witch hunt, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, filed suit for its release and the court has now ordered it.

Can’t wait to see this one... although it is likely already altered and/or destroyed.

Attorney General agreement with other states (and private PACs) isn’t open to a FOIA request? The corrupt AF AG needs to FO.

If the agreement is between the State of New York and other states and PACs, then surely they each have a copy.

Drain the swamp

I’m sorry judges, the document was on the private server of SOS Hillary Clinton and has since been subject to a “bleach-bit scrubbing.

Not being from New York I don't know who they are but if it will help I'll hate them for you.

Didn’t this all start in Ecuador with some Texaco deal from years ago? Something about Ecuador claiming they needed to pay for some clean up or something? I may be confused since I’ve only had two cups of coffee this a.m.

He was a piece of work.
He was one of the troika that ran NY, the proverbial “three men in a room” that decided the business of the state.
They ran Joe Bruno out for the same thing, he was acquitted.
Then Andrew Cuomo and his merry band of thieves came into office, and well.. it really is possible to make a sewer dirtier.

Eric Schneiderman is the corrupt attorney general of New York State. Sheldon Silver is the convicted, disbarred, twelve years in prison, seven million dollar fine former Speaker of the New York State Assembly who couldn’t be bothered to find out if his own chief counsel was really a rapist (he was) and who resigned his position when he was convicted.

LOL thanks! I am from NY and they are all swamp creatures needing to be drained. Preet Bharara seems to be on this!

Shelly Silver and the rest are from the deep swamp.

yes. You've got the story.
Texaco was acquired by Chevron years after Texaco cleaned up its drilling activities in Ecuador. An American lawyer bribed an Ecuadorian judge to issue a claim that ignored the government's approved remediation. Chevron was sued as the owner of Texaco but fought back.
