The Nielsen estimates revealed that ESPN lost 555,000 subscribers during the last month.

In other words, ESPN essentially lost the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. This, coming on the heels of last month, the worst month in ESPN history, where the network lost 621,000 subscribers.

In the last two months, ESPN has lost 1,176,000 subscribers, a subscriber loss nearly the size of the city of Dallas, Texas.

...explanation for the network’s cratering subscriber base. ESPN Ombudsman Jim Brady, admitted that the network lurched way too far to the left in recent years, alienating many viewers.

I think you’re right, they threw politics and opinions into it and that turns people off. You turn them on to watch a game and talk sports, that’s it.

Good. I can’t stomach their left wing political diatribes and their ridiculous forcing of soccer upon us anymore.
Really... how many Americans give a damn about premiere league scores or news??

NFL superstars had better move up their negotiations in advance of the NFL death spiral. Owners are not gonna be happy when they see dwindling TV revenue going forward.

I suspect it’s packages that do include espn and packages that don’t, but perhaps there is more selection out there than I realize.

And, like you suggest, it could be viewers.

Not only that, but other SJWs at that declining network, that for consecutive years named Micheal Sam and Caitlyn Jenner as winners of their "courage" award - yeah, no agenda here, move along...

I haven’t watched any NFL this year since I’m #BoycottNFL.

However, I started getting fed up with the NFL a few years back when every single play was an occasion for some doofus to perform a ‘gloat dance’. That stuff is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I just can’t stand it.

And then there’s just the boredom of the NFL offense. (He takes the snap, he passes...)

The Extra Sappy Pussy Network should not be surprised.

Their sports announcers have tanked and continue to be pathetic. Why don’t they get tons and tons more women to announce their sports? Pathetic. They’re digging their own grave.

Well, actually, Jim Brady didn’t admit that, but actually doubled-down on how ESPN isn’t Left-wing:

They need to keep their politics out of their coverage. Also most sports fans are more conservative, and yet they push their liberal views.

That's WHY they are pushing their liberal views. They want to propagandize the leftist narrative to a conservative audience.

That’s because ESPN decided to politicalize sports.

If ESPN would stay out of politics, and just talk about sports. They would be in better shape.

And nothing against female sportscasters, but I am getting sick of seeing totally UNQUALIFIED female sportscasters being shoved in my face every day. (Women assigned to do color commentary on games they have never played).

ESPN is an albatross around Disney’s neck.

They need a MASSIVE revamp. ESPN leadership treats commentary like the news and sports like a Broadway musical.

We want sports not showtunes.

I don’t get that either.

I would have dropped ESPN from my satellite package long ago if it were possible.

Although I understand that Dish now offers a few different ala carte options, which I have been too lazy to check out.

Haven’t watched a single play of a single pro football game this year, and used to watch all the time. Never going back either, better use of my time.

I cut cable. Now I’m paying $70/mo for 100MB internet and less than $5 a month for 950 channels of IPTV. So I’m saving over $100/mo and loving it
