Appeasement never works.

The only thing sociopaths and bullies understand is strength. Show weakness and they continue to abuse you.

Normal, but naive, people think that they can reason with a bully/sociopath because they assume bad people think the way they do. They are sadly mistaken.

KSM is a master of disinformation. He was never that tight with bin Laden who never completely trusted him or his nephew Ramzi Yousef.

Bin Laden was the money man and made KSM use Ramzi bin al-Shibh (a fellow Yemeni of bin Laden) as the 9/11 coordinator with Atta.

For KSM to say AQ was shocked that the US invaded Afghanistan is not credible. That was AQ’s goal, to draw us into Afghanistan. AQ and bin Laden were all but gone from Tarnack Farms by 9/11 and relocated to Tora Bora.

KSM was never that close to bin Laden to know what he was thinking. Ramzi bin al-Shibh would be a far better source and he’s not talking.

I wouldn’t doubt it, on the terror cells.

Here’s a problem for me whenever folks talk of the Saudi government wishing the West harm.

Where do they have their money invested?

Do you have any idea how much wealth the Saudis lost on 09/11&12/2001?

People have got to realize that the Saudi King doesn’t control every person in his country, and even every family member that he gives money to. And those people who get money don’t always control what people do with it that they pass it on to.

Where does Saudi Arabia get it’s money? Oil. Sales of it to the West...

What vested interest does Saudi Arabia have in crashing it’s biggest markets?

Sometimes you think you know all the answers.

Then you realize you didn’t even know all the questions.

This is why I thought Timoty McVeigh should have been kept alive.

People mellow as they age. Later on they may feel regret and open up.

For simple murders, man kills wife neighbor or other citizen, sure execute them.

When people with strategic knowledge are executed, access to information is sealed. I think there’s a strategic reason to keep them alive.

"... I thought Timoty [sic] McVeigh should have been kept alive."

Same here. The FBI (deliberately, IMO) left many questions answered (or obfuscated) that McVeigh could have enlightened us on. But, then, perhaps that's the reason for the rushed "execution"...

That was my first tip-off. Why all the rush?

Look, I don’t like what he did at all, and I think he should have paid by being locked in prison for his whole life.

I too thought it was important whether he had an Islamic connection, which at that time would not have rung alarm bells like it would now.

By killing him, we allowed others to get off. I don’t like that at all!

I'm not going to get (re-)started on OKC, (see my FRProfile) but, one puzzle McV might have helped sort out is the story of the nitromethane drums.

McV supposedly drew a sketch (of which I have a copy) showing that he & Nichols stood the three empty blue-painted steel VP Racing fuels Nitromethane drums against the inside back door of the Ryder's cargo box. The ANFO/ANNM explosive was mixed (and detonated) in blue plastic drums. There were fragments of blue plastic all over that part of OKC -- including atop roofs.

The rear axle of the Ryder truck was found about a block back up the street -- atop the hood of a small car. But the FBI never reported finding any trace of the three empty blue-painted steel Nitromethane drums.

...just one of many fast-&-loose FBI evidence [mis-]handling anomalies that McV could have shone the light of truth on...

BUT -- does the FBI want to be placed in the light of truth?

I don’t remember everything now, but it was like the Foster Murder and the TWA800 missile strike.

It just didn’t add up. The FBI was told there was going to be an attack. They had three different informers inside Elohim City. Each didn’t know about the other.

When you’re a parent you get pretty savvy at figuring out when your kids are lying to you.

Not even the FBI can avoid that sense that comes over time.

>>BS. Some shock and awe.

Who was the Owl worshipper’s intended audience again?

Some might say “shock and awe” was a form of mockery.

Now consider the whole debacle in the context of Romans 1:25+

What was being worshiped and served?

Same ol’ technocratic Ba’al manure, different municipal toilet.

It’s not like the cultural “due penalty” for perversion isn’t self-evident. W was giving a wink and a nod to it throughout his tenure.

Sorry, not buying the lip stick. It’s STILL A PIG!

>>the Bush doctrine

Milk every last drop out the cow and then butcher it for the BBQ?

“We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America.”

The "doctrine" has to be observed in the context of the history of the past 55 years - and before.

The "Religion of peace" is allowed to continue to inflict its state-establishing fraud for the same reason Saddam was propped up - they're both profitable and serve a purpose for the kleptocratic charade.

We are at liberty to be real, or to be unreal. We may be true or false, the choice is ours. We may wear now one mask and now another, and never, if we so desire, appear with our own true face. But we cannot make these choices with impunity. Causes have effects, and if we lie to ourselves and to others, then we cannot expect to find truth and reality whenever we happen to want them.
If we have chosen the way of falsity we must not be surprised that truth eludes us when we finally come to need it!

—Thomas Merton

“The right to search for truth implies also a duty; one must not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be true.”
—Albert Einstein

And it’s unpleasant, because there were a lot of things I wanted to like about Dubya too.
