President Rodrigo Duterte was seen laughing and smiling during a phone conversation with US President-elect Donald Trump on Friday night.
The Presidential Communications Office posted an excerpt of the conversation on its Facebook account before noon Saturday.
The video was mostly muted due to the nature of the conversation, but Duterte was seen smiling all the time.

Malacañang (the Philippine equivalent of the White House) said earlier that according to Duterte, he and Trump have a "good rapport." In a released transcript by Malacañang, Duterte assured Trump that the Philippine government's campaign against drugs is being don "the right way."
"He was quite sensitive also to our worry about drugs," Duterte said.
Duterte also said that Trump had invited him to visit New York and Washington DC.
"He said that if I’m around, he wants to be notified of my presence," the Philippine leader said.

Trump’s brief chat with the firebrand Philippine president follows a period of uncertainty about one of Washington’s most important Asian alliances, stoked by Duterte’s hostility towards President Barack Obama and repeated threats to sever decades-old defense ties.
The call lasted just over seven minutes, Duterte’s special advisor, Christopher Go, said in a text message to media, which gave few details. Trump’s transition team had no immediate comment.

Duterte is in the pocket of China and has a long history of anti Americanism even before Obama.
The US should think carefully before getting friendly with another Marcos crony, which is basically what Duterte is.

I to have been smiling lately and wear my red Donald Trump is my President shirt and Make America Great hat at home and especially in public. I am happy and the liberal communists demorats are so very very angry at the fact a good man is elected.
One phone call and a vital strategic alliance in Pacific is repaired and China’s position in the Spratly Islands is flanked. Anyone who’s traveled in that region knows that all the countries have a policy of killing drug traffickers and the users are treated as pariah. Obama behaving high and mighty with a sovereign ally, one with unique sensitivities because of our past colonial rule, nearly did as much damage to our position in the SE Asian sector of the Pacific as the Japanese Imperial Navy did in 1941-42.

Well, not EVERY nation; taking the President of Taiwan’s call yesterday was a shot across the bow of China that a new sheriff is in town.
Marcos did more for the Philippines than any other President. It is better to be friends with this guy than enemies and especially if he is cleaning up that Country. It is a very dangerous Country to go to.
