I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it is sort of a way around the press. He doesn't have to rely upon, uh, rely upon -- this is the modern era, modern technology. He's at the point where we don't need you guys anymore.

Not Ron Paul,,,
I can’t remember who,,
ObamaCare was the Real spark.
Then the media and RINOs attacked
the movement,
“Astroturf “ and IRS Audits.

Trump has already released at least one statement via YouTube. It reminded me of the fireside chats.

I'm hoping that he continues them. It would be a good way to bypass the press altogether -- they can rebroadcast the Youtube video if they want to remain relevant.

Another innovation would be a "press conference" without the "press". Trump did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit last summer, while he was in flight to Toledo:

I’m Donald J. Trump and I'm Your Next President of the United States.

If he could do a live teleconference and take questions from ordinary people without losing control to disruptions, I think it would be very popular -- except in the leftist media.

(Isn’t that where this movement originated?)

No, It “originated” with people coming to North America hundreds of years ago, but likely “originated” long before that with a fellow named Jesus and before His human time, Abraham.

Truth vs falsehood and dealing with people and situations properly has been around forever, originated with God.

I thought the Tea Party got its roots from the 2008 Ron Paul primary race

The "roots" go farther back than that, as various people and groups used the Boston Tea Party (event) as a rallying cry.

But, it was a broadcast by Rick Santelli on CNBC that jump-started the contemporary national movement.

True dat. The one thing I would love to see is conservatives find a way around the LOCAL media now. I listen to the talk radio in Miami...even the station that carries Rush, and it is RANK with libs and RINOs.

And local newspaper and TV stations are worse.

If we could find a way to actively reach those readers and viewers and let then know how many LIES are being perpetrated by THOSE media outlets, it would be awesome.

I also hope Trump does the Saturday radio addresses. What ever wants to say to America needs to be direct and unfiltered.

Trump doesn’t need nor want the media to “filter” his statements, especially when the filtering consists of censoring out what his base would like, and emphasizing anything likely to create a negative impression.

On Fox today, in a segment about whether Trump’s tweets should be considered “news”, one of the talking heads made the point that Trump’s twitter account has 16.6 million followers. This is more than the average number of people who watch cable news.

Twitter is fun but they sensor, just FYI. There is a new beta program out called gab.ai but you have to get on a waiting list. Took me 3 weeks to get on. They claim to not sensor. Some on twitter mention they are also on Gab and it is truly free speech. I don’t know, I really haven’t used it much.

Twitter has it’s limits and flaws, definitely. However, it’s pretty good for privacy as far as you don’t have to give away any personal info.

Or just make a video of what he wants to say, post it on the White House web site, and post the link to Twitter, Facebook, Gab.ai, and all the rest.

Bypass the media AND their advertisers.

Yes, Trump took us to a place where we no longer need the mainstream press.

Trump also took us to a place where we no longer need the corrupt status quo of "The Way Things Are" of both major parties.

And Trump also took us to a place where we no longer need the Bush cabal and their cronies.

Which means we don't need you either, Mister Former Vice-President.
