In an exclusive interview with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric, Edward Snowden says that former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus — under consideration to be President-elect Donald Trump’s secretary of state — disclosed “information that was far more highly classified than I ever did” and yet never “spent a single day in jail.”

True but on April 23, 2015, Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling classified materials. He was given a two-year probationary period and a fine of $100,000.

“he pleaded guilty”

Sad day for such a career warrior but he IMO was a victim of the lefts machine . Paula Broadwell went straight to “the glover group” a media relations outfit by the clintonistas aka Dee Dee Myers .... the rest is history.

” means nothing”

I beg to differ. She wasn’t just a civilian girlfriend with no clearance at all. There IS a difference

He gave his thumb drive first to the Chinese then later when the Chinese had no further use for a person who betrayed his country sent him to Russia who looked at the thumb drive.

So many believe he only exposed the meta data collection by NSA - however that hd been public knowledge sine the 1960s-70s; just most people have very short attention spans and forget things that have no apparent effect on their daily life. This latest release of old information was just the smoke screen his Chinese handlers used to divert the too gullible public from what was really stolen.

Eddy “Snowjob” took everything that was available to him as an Admin at Booz Allen Hamilton, which was mostly military Intel, collection Method and Means, as well as Project Names and the names of personnel in those projects. Pure gold to the Chinese and the Russians.

Because of the huge loss of national security, NSA was forced by the “Snowjob” breach to back to square one and change everything which likely cost in the millions if not billions.

And yet this creep is celebrated by many as a hero ...

Petraeus can’t be trusted with classified material. He can’t be trusted to keep his gear in his trowsers. His presence in a Trump administration would completely undermine any criticism - never mind prosecution - of Hillary Clinton. He should be sent to Coventry, as the Brits say.

Good point,

The truth is that the damage done by disclosure of classified documents is highly speculative. It (damage) can be counted in terms of financial cost or national security cost. Both measures are still relative.

How much is the cost of a critical vulnerability in a weapon system? How much is the cost of a lost agent who was compromised by a leak? The net result of asking these kinds of questions would be needed to determine who did the worst disclosing. Otherwise the question is meaningless.

Well put. There should be no gray line when peoples lives are on the line. He is no different than Clinton.

If I remember correctly she was there to write Petraeus’s biography.

Is that what they’re calling it these days?
