Even as I grew up in northern Illinois in the 1970s the Sears brand was beginning to fade. It is such a shame because of all the history associated with the brand.

My family even used to live a block from Sears Boulevard in Wildwood, Ill where the Sears family once lived.

And to this day, my stepfather still uses the line “where did you get your drivers license, Sears?” Many people are unaware that a person could indeed have their drivers license issued to them by Sears in the old days.
