The foreign ministers of China and Iran on Monday urged governments not to violate the deal that limits Iran’s nuclear activity in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, in remarks apparently directed at President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said during a visit to Beijing that the seven nations who agreed to the deal in July 2015 “have the obligation to fully implement” it.

“Iran will not allow any country to take unilateral action to violate the agreement and Iran has the right to take action against that,” Zarif said at a news conference after meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. …

So Iran is going to take action against itself, because they already unilaterally violated the “agreement”? There ya go.

Agreements are great for the party that breaks them when convenient but has a partner who keeps to them.

But, why would China want Iran to have nuclear weapons? It might weigh against Europe and the US, but the mullahs have an apocalyptic mindset and can’t be trusted for very long. Uighurs with truck bombs?

We buy goods made in China. China needs for us to continue buying those goods made in China. Trump understands very well the strength of the US position.

urged governments not to violate the deal

Not "violate", but rather "re-negotiate".

Was this not an executive agreement? If so, the President bound his administration, but not the nation. ...

What agreement?

The one Iran has breached?

The one in writing?

The one with secret protocols?

The one ratified by the senate?

In reality there is no real agreement. It exists only in the minds of persons like Obama and Kerry.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “We made a deal that you would stop limiting our access to the world’s wealth and in exchange we would keep quiet about our nuclear bomb technology. If you violate the terms of our agreement we will be forced to rattle our sabres out in the open where everyone can see.”
Well, that should put the fear of Allah in Trump.

So they don't have to buy our stuff and we don't have to buy Chinese products or Iranian oil.

We have our own oil now and we are going to make our own things, creating prosperity for Americans.

Congress didn't make a treaty so this "deal" doesn't mean squat, ultimately.

Iran shouldn't have made a "deal" with the current POTUS, who is temporary as every POTUS is, and should have made a treaty with the US for any lasting effect.

I suspect China doesn’t really care all that much about the Iran deal. Based on the timing, it seems more like they just want to poke the US with some Big Talk after Trump’s phone discussion with Taiwan. “We’re a big player in world affairs, see?”

It looks like Iran is already quaking in fear of Trump. With Obama as president, they threatened to cancel the pact. Now, with Trump, they are threatening to KEEP it.

There is no “agreement.” Iran never signed anything. Too bad, so sad.

Yup, Trump could ask India to step up and make cheap TV sets and other items for the US market.

I’d rather send $ to India than China!
