The reasoning is stupid but I hate red light cameras, find them to be onerous and unfair, and have paid out about $700 when I really shouldn’t have had to due to one.

Then, why did you PAY? It is only a civil fine, not a criminal one.
Are you saying you didn't run the red lights?
We live in NC. Years ago my husband received a red light ticket from TN. He’s never been to TN and the car in the photo was not his. The last tag number in the picture wasn’t clear and they got it wrong. A pain to clear up and annoying. Eventually dismissed.
Well stop running the RED lights.
YELLOW means slow down, caution, prepare to stop.
Not speed up and try to beat the RED.
