Yes, she has little grounds for eliciting sympathy, but Petraeus is a scumbag for bedding another woman. I am surprised that so many here on FR are willing to give the man a pass, while condemning the scarlet woman.
I don’t think we are giving either one a pass. We are just commenting on her public statements about the subject.
I think they are both scum, but she is the one who made the stupid comment in the headline.
Nobody is giving the man a pass here. He lost his job and was convicted of a crime. But she did the same as he did. She was married as well. So they were both very guilty. She even knowingly accepted secret information which she was not allowed to have. But to the point of this article, there were other people, not the General but his wife and her own family who she (and he) hurt. Our disdain for her is not a reflection of his blame. Its a reflection of hers. She is the one complaining.
