Mr. Tillerson, 64, runs a company with operations in about 50 countries, cutting deals to expand business in Venezuela, Qatar, Kurdistan and elsewhere.

In other words, he's an Arabist. Right?

Hope he does NOT support refugees and the charities that are making money per head on importing them.

Yep a deal with Qatar may mean more access to our kiddie schools learning Arabic Language/culture and more university students. Hope this goes OK..I’m a little nervous myself.

Russia is the focus. Nothing else. This guy knows Russia.

Good luck dealing with the Chicoms with that attitude. Russia has a petrostate economy the size of Italy last time I checked. It most certainly is not “the focus”.

Agreed. Bolton knows where the bodies are buried at State.

It would be a great team.

Think about who Obama let run it.

Trump needs to find out who is leaking the information and FIRE them! Loose lips sink ships. Only Trump knows who the SOS will be. I will laugh at everyone if the pick is not Tillerson although the interview with FOX has Tillerson a strong favorite. Tillerson is either tired of running Exxon or he will be taking a leave of absence.

I was hoping that Foggy Bottom was finally going to be fumigated of its legion of Arabists. No such luck. In retrospect, it was naive to even think that it was a possibility.

Rex for deals, Bolton for actual foreign policy could work out very well. I doubt Rex was the one who worked out the thinking behind that Taiwan call. I also can’t see Bolton meeting with some of those foreign leaders that don’t like us very much.

But boy...the next few weeks and confirmation hearings should be crazy!

they’re essentially the same thing: same anthem, still have Lenin’s corpse on display, and still both oppose US hegemony. American hegemony must never be opposed, ever.

Tillerson....

Supports carbon tax to counter “climate change.”

Supports Common Core commie education.

Supports global trade deals (NAFTA, TPP, etc.)

Pushed for open homosexuality in the Boy Scouts.

Sounds like YOUR type of guy.

they’re essentially the same thing: same anthem

And Germany still has the same anthem as the Nazis, with different lyrics....just as the Russians have different lyrics to their anthem.
