When President Obama took office, he gave journalists great hope by promising unprecedented transparency. The reality has proven to be eight years of slippage in nearly every facet of openness. As the president prepares to leave office, the Society of Professional Journalists have noted the disappointing shortfalls.
Forty journalism and open-government groups sent a letter to White House press secretary Josh Earnest* in September after he called for journalists to give the president credit for improvements in government transparency. The Society of Professional Journalists and other groups have repeatedly outlined to the administration various ways in which transparency has gotten worse including:
Officials blocking reporters requests to talk to specific people Excessive delays in answering interview requests, stretching past reporters deadlines Refusing to give reporters what should be public information unless they agree not to say whos speaking Federal agencies blackballing of reporters who write critically of them Lack of meaning visual access to the pressmen try an independent press pool We were hoping we could point to this White House as a shining example of how it should be done, writes the Society of Professional Journalists. Unfortunately, we cant do that and will have to start over with the next administration.
*Earnest is the same administration official who has, without explanation, blocked the release of White House photos taken the night of the September 11, 2012 Islamic extremist attacks on the U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya. These White House photos were taken by a photographer paid with tax dollars to chronicle events of elected and public officials. The photographs depict officials conducting the publics business. Since President Obama will not disclose his actions or whereabouts throughout that night, as commander-in-chief, while Americans were under attack on foreign soil, the photos could shed light on events that went horribly wrong.

This was the same thing BJ Bill Clinton said: the most openly transparent administration ever. BJ lied as did Obozo. Stupid “journalists” and “reporters” always fall for Rat lies and ruses.
Less than competent, too.
And here I thought Press Secretary was the lowest of the low administration positions. Just where does he get the authority to "block" anything?
King William was transparent.
I could see right through him.
Let’s remember the 2016 election for the BIG losers:
LOSER: The DNC. They have lost the House, Senate, White House, State Legislatures, and Governorships thanks to Obama and the Hillary campaign.
BIG LOSER: Obozo. His “Legacy” will be sealed as a loser for all of the above, plus the Obamacare fiasco, the Benghazi murders, race riots, and massive debt.
BIGGER LOSER: The Clinton Mob. Instead of heading to the White House, their political careers are basically over, and there’s a better chance they will be heading to the other big house the Fed runs, the one in Leavenworth.
BIGGEST LOSER: Network Media. They made complete predictive fools of themselves this election, revealed their elitist establishment bias, (including Fox) got caught red-handed colluding with the DNC/Clinton clan, and have been shutout and forced to simply re-Tweet Trump’s Twitter policy/cabinet announcements to the point where their entire viability as an industry is in question.
Getting the Propaganda Media out of the news business will have the most effect in shifting the direction of American politics, and the left, DNC, D.C., and the media know it and are terrified.
BEST. ELECTION. EVER! More popcorn please!
If they really believed that crpp then they are even stupider than they look.
And they look very stupid.
transparency....like letting the world see his academic records, and knowing how he got to be a foreign student status..on a Full Bright scholarship...do you mean THAT kind of transparency, or is it more FAKE NEWS.
“”King William was transparent. I could see right through him.””
As IS/WAS obozo! No mystery to that creature...
Those photos probably show Obama laughing, drinking and partying therefore they cannot be released to the public.
That’s not egg on their faces.
They have spent the last 8 years kissing Obama’s nether regions and some of it was bound to rub off.
Anyone remember his first promise right out of the gate with respect to transparency? It was his promise that public cameras be allowed in during Obamacare debates, completely open to the public.
As we know they were 100% closed door and nary a peep from the media. I knew immediately what would happen going forward
Henchster, You left out the megalosers: the experts, the pontificating pundits of propaganda and poo.
After his election, Clinton promised “the most ethical administration in history”.
Democrats are like snakes shaking their rattles: “I’m not going to bite you.”

The journalists know that they depend on intimidating Republican politicians. They also know that Donald Trump doesnt intimidate. But its what theyve got.

- People who work at journalism full time ought to be able to do a better job of it than people for whom it is a hobby. But that's not going to happen as long as we "professional" journalists ignore stories we don't like and try to hide our mistakes. We think of ourselves as "gatekeepers." But
there is not much future in being a gatekeeper when the walls are down.
Obama’s whereabouts on the night of Benghazi is the most closely guarded secret in history. It must be really bad.
And here I thought everybody knew where he was!
He was getting buttboinked by Reggie in the offal orfice.
