I am reminded of the Barbary Pirates and the scam they had going until the U.S. Navy settled the issue. They took hostages by capturing European and American ships and demanded ransom. Everyone kept paying the ransom, so they kept taking the hostages. Stephen Decatur arrived with a squadron and issued an ultimatum to the Bey (sort of the local Caliph), either hand over the prisoners or we will reduce your city to ruins. The Bey demanded payment. Decatur flatly refused. The Bey came back and said: “OK. You won’t pay money; how about (a certain number of) barrels of gunpowder”. Decatur’s classic reply: “If you insist upon receiving gunpowder as tribute, you must expect to receive (cannon) balls with it.”
I don’t know why we have been giving them any money-—but I have my suspicions. I would stop giving aid to the Israelis and the PA.

I support aid for Israel, but I do believe there is an argument to be made for stopping. I don’t agree with it.
The United States standing with Israel is essentially the U.S. standing with the Jewish people.
In this old world, with the buzzards always circling over Israel’s head, I am very glad we are on record supporting it.
