The people on the West Bank and in Gaza could have been a nation in the 1950s, if they had chosen to work hard for the betterment of those people.
Israel did just that and became an economic powerhouse.
The Islamists dedicated themselves not to creating a great nation for themselves. They dedicated themselves instead to destroying Israel.
They pursued terrorism for 65 years. People are sick of it.

A good chunk of them would probably be DNA tested and shocked to hear the news about their ancestors.
