I hear you. It’s more than kindness. It speaks to the essence of being a judge. He made him face the consequences of his actions and then went the extra mile to give him the tools to see it through. He showed love for his brother. He undoubtedly changed a mans life that night. He’s like Clarence in It’s a Wonderful Life.

I’d guess he’d have terrible survivors guilt no matter what happened in that truck, which only he knows. Whether he has more to be ashamed of is not for us to know.

Nope as explained by others. The Judge was the guy in the first photo, not the SF troop.
