Speaking about volumes of foreign ammo purchased, “........... Domestic ammo has got to be far more.”.......

If you are lucky enough to find any and want to pay super inflated prices. It’s called supply and demand.

I disagree for the most part. Depends somewhat on the caliber, though.

You probably would have to order domestically made ammo to get good prices. Freedom Munitions makes excellent ammo and their prices are quite competitive. Get on the email blast list for some of these suppliers.

I've noticed that some domestic mfg are making steel cased ammo now. The only steel stuff I use is 7.62x39, not much point in paying a lot to run brass through an AK.

Buy it by the case on the internet, or roll your own.
