There were millennials who did vote for Trump but had to keep it quiet.

Yup. Social media managed to herd the sheep very effectively.

I don't see this as a sign of a faltering economy.

Think about it ... We basically have a situation where adult children can't afford to buy the homes from their own parents. That's not a symptom of a poor economy, but an overinflated real estate market.

I suspect a lot of younger people are wising up to the fact that owning a home may not be the best thing for everyone. In an economy where a person's flexibility to relocate may be critical to their future, an overpriced home can be an enormous anchor.

I have heard very often on talk radio, Rush’s those millenials who are very supportive of Trump, kid you not.

Most of whom are probably Bernie supporters, they simply don’t want to work.

The majority of parents today seem totally okie-dokie with their kids having overnight guests of the opposite sex.

True, my sister-law's son lives in the basement with his girlfriend, I find it almost unbelievable.

Buying a home in NYS, unless it’s very inexpensive, is not what I’d call a good investment for someone just starting out. We’re a high income tax, high prop tax state. Wonder how much living at home stats vary from state to state. That would be some very helpful data to know.

I’m not surprised. The cost of a college education is out of control. I don’t have nearly enough saved for my daughters’ college. One is considering the Air Force ... that would be a big monetary relief. She’s thinking about Aerospace Engineering as a profession. But I offered both of them this arrangement ... if they have to take student loans, they can live at home after graduation in order to keep their costs down while they pay back their loans as soon as possible.

"Better" is a relative term, and it really depends on what you're measuring.

Do I think more young people will be able to afford to buy homes? No.

Do I think you'll have more people gainfully employed in the U.S.? Yes.

If teens spent their summer vacations learning a trade rather than working retail, might be a better investment of their time. They can help pay for their education while learning a skill that could keep them housed and fed while looking for other work.

Oh, they will work. No doubt about that. I recently told them about that boy that sold newspapers and magazines as a teen and saved enough for 4 years of college.

If the Dems had chosen a better snake oil salesman, and used promises of student loan forgiveness to bring the pajama people to the polls, we would have lost.

That's why I was seriously concerned about Bernie Sanders gaining traction. He's a damned fool socialist but his 'free stuff' and 'free college' bull was paying big dividends with millennials. I thanked the Lord every day for giving us such an awful, incompetent, corrupt and lazy opponent.

What I am thinking more in that they will wait until get married and settle down before investing in a home. We are due for a swing back to the conservative time.

And good for him! I was just thinking that trades pay well, folks are in dire need of talented tradespeople, and while retail is honorable work, the pay stinks.

FWIW, I think the problem comes in folks thinking that their home is an “investment”, rather than a roof over their heads. In NYS, residential real estate, to my mind, is a lousy investment.

Numerically Millenials passed up Baby Boomers as the largest living generation a little over a year ago.

That, and the way they were following Free Stuff Bernie like the Pied Piper led to my sense of alarm.

it was common in the 1950’s across races. Especially for women. They moved out when they married.
