On Monday the Obama administration finalized a Social Security gun ban that could prevent “tens of thousands” of law-abiding elderly citizens from purchasing guns for self-defense.
Breitbart News reported this ban on July 18, 2015, when it was learned that the Obama administration was creating a ban on gun purchases that would apply to Social Security recipients who needed help managing their finances. The Los Angeles Times reported that the ban would be sweeping; that it would cover those who are unable to manage their own affairs for a multitude of reasons–from “subnormal intelligence or mental illness” to “incompetency,” an unspecified “condition,” or “disease.”

I assume this is an interpretation of the wording of the social security statutes that is as easy as a reinterpretation to reverse. IOW, a nothing-burger. Fire anyone who tries to enforce it.
The way it will work is that anyone applying for or receiving SS benefits will be deemed mentally incompetent because they want to partake in a bankrupt government program. People of the age to go on SS but don’t or won’t will be deemed mentally incompetent for refusing the largess of a beneficent government. Gun problem solved.
This is his version of Sherman’s March to the Sea. His intent is to scorch the earth during his retreat and to do as much damage as possible on the way out. Damn him.
They continued doing their job but I could tell they were uncomfortable asking the gun question to begin with. These were medical people, not partisan politicians.
The question was mandated from on high---translation: from Obama.
