Don’t you think the people who were in the warehouse house knew it was shoddy?

Perhaps not all of them knew. They knew they were going to a venue for a live music show, and may have assumed it was up to code.

We live on certain assumptions in this culture. Like if we buy a packaged item in a grocery store, or an item in a restaurant, we assume it has passed health inspections.

We’re not supposed to operate like a third world country but the “free spirits” want to. It is sad. Those poor people.

There are “artists” here organizing and marching to PREVENT the fire codes etc. being applied in the wake of this tragedy. Believe it or not. It surprised me to see, on SFGate of all places, that most commenters as liberal as they are really put that idea down.

Of course.

Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime: the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.

It wasn't shoddy, it was "ART."
