Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich jabbed Russia for its vote Friday in the United Nations Security Council — a move that could reflect badly on President-elect Trump.
"So Russia having illegally occupied Crimea and eastern Ukraine votes to condemn Israel for 'occupied lands.' We are supposed to be impressed," the Trump adviser tweeted Saturday morning.
In a 14-0 vote on Friday, the U.N. Security Council condemned Israel for settlements in areas of the West Bank and East Jerusalem that Israel occupied during the Six-Day War of 1967. The Security Council is often critiqued for being anti-Israel.

I like him (and voted for him in the 2012 primaries) but he has no discipline at all.

No, he spoke a small part of the truth — which is similar to lying. He didn’t name or shame any of the other 13 countries that voted for the resolution. Why not? He’s ok with them voting for it? I guess so. What a dishonest blowhard he is.

You’re ok with countries voting against Israel, that’s what I’m comprehending from the Gingrich article that you’re endorsing. You only have a problem with one country — Russia — doing so, because there’s some supposed “hypocrisy” involved.
He's been shooting his mouth off all over the place and had to be smacked down by one of Trump's tweets.
I don't care if he is right on this particular subject (BTW, Russia "seized" Crimea to cut-off a travel route used by jihadists that your buddy Obama unleashed), he needs to keep his mouth shut.

Of course Israel isn’t happy with the vote, but Russia was not one of the nations that pushed the anti-Israel resolution in the first place.
They were Malaysia, Senegal, Venezuela and New Zealand.

Crimea was Russian since 1783. It was given by Krushchev to the Soviet Ukraine which no longer exists. >90% of Crimeans want to be part of Russia. More Californians want to be part of Mexico.
