Yes it will backfire. Look at the damage his policies have done to the Democrat party since he came into office. I'd like to see that trend continue. And when Trumps policies start working, Obama's presence is only going to make it worse for what is left of the Democrat "party." Obama is not relevant.

I, for one, never wish to see his face or hear his voice after Jan 20th. I will mute and change channels or stations on the TV or radio. (And that holds for sound bytes from my favorite hosts). This isn't a boycott, it is the way it is going to be in MY world. I am creating around me an OFZ (Obama Free Zone).

Obama will try his stupid shtick for a while, commenting on Trump. Probably roll out some asinine "Office of the Former President" shield to tape to his podium.

Then Trump will smack him down HARD. The skinny little SOB won't be used to someone treating him this way, and the drive-bys will be shocked, but that won't stop the new President. Ex-president Stompy-foot may try a couple more times, and Trump will smack back twice as hard. Eventually even Obozo will get it between his floppy ears that it's a losing proposition, stop and probably slink back to Chi-town with his tail between his legs.

When you can no longer signal how virtuous you are by voting for the black guy, you don't really have any more use for him. All he was was a symbol for white liberals to feel good about themselves.

As a man, he was lazy, a fool, and incompetent, but they didn't care so long as he was black and they could brag to their friends that they supported the "black" president.
