We finally found our way to a loaned exhibit on Persian Art in a wing of their fabulous art museum which wasn't so overcrowded that we could actually see something.
People marveled at the pre 700 ad exhibits of art and sculpture which were the equal of anything produced in Ancient Greece, Rome or even the Renaissance. After that time, they took a noticeable decline. There was a lot of murmurs and wonderment in the crowd. Finally, one little boy spoke up and asked "What happened to Persia then?" to nobody in particular. Since I was in earshot, I replied "That was when Islam took over there."
You could have heard a pin drop.
Good for you.
I hope that gave everyone who heard something to think about for a LONG time.
lol, yup- that probably went over about as well as a fart at a pot luck dinner- but it’s true- that’s precisely what happened- The middle east went from being a cultural powerhouse to nothing really- muhammad didn’t want his followers to be educated or cultured- He burned the books as a message that his followers were to be blindly loyal to him and noone else- Sad really- why liberals would defend this barbarity is beyond me- a muslim woman was murdered- beheaded- just the other day for, get htis, the horrible crime of ‘shopping without her husband present’ in Afghanistan - And Liberals defend this? And want ot import this into our country?
