Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he is willing to work with President-elect Donald Trump to reach a two-state solution to the conflict with Israel.
Abbas spoke Saturday at an event marking the anniversary of his Fatah party.
He said "We want to emphasize our willingness to work with the newly-elected American administration... to achieve peace... based on a two-state solution."
Abbas thanked the U.S. for its U.N. abstention vote last week, which allowed the Security Council to adopt a resolution declaring Israeli settlements in territory claimed by Palestinians illegal.

He offers the olive leaf of make believe, in order to state he had hoped and tried to deal with Trump, but Trump was such a beast he couldn’t.

Abbas has taken a page from the recent Putin playbook that was used with Obama, over this 72 hour banishing of Russian Corp of diplomats and spies.
Putin presented himself as unflappable, ignoring Bark, and not reacting in kind, but rather generously instead, inviting US diplomats and their children to CHRISTMAS festivities at the Kremlin for New Year’s.
Abbas posits a generous tone and ignores TRUMP’s global critics, for a moment in time, as well as TRUMP’S chief critic, muddling Obama. Hilarious.

The mandate gave them two states - theirs is Jordan. Trump should help them mover there and get out of Israel.

1. The US doesn’t negotiate with terrorists (See Abbas’ history as a terrorist).
2. There already are two states created out of the Palestinian Mandate, Jordan and Israel.
3. When did Abbas give up his Jordanian citizenship granted to him in 1948 by Jordan, or was he out of the area at the time?
4. Arafat, the founder of the PLO, was born in Egypt. I see Abbas was born in Israel. So what nationality is he. There is no nationality as Palestinian. So why did his parent leave Israel in 1948, except to allow the Arab League to wipe out the Jews?
5. Since the PLO was founded by the Soviet KGB, what part did he have in this, especially since he was educated in Moscow.
6. Why was his dissertation entitled, “The Other Side: The Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism”.
Abbas is a mayor in a backwater city. Trump has no reason to pay him any mind at all.
Let the Israelis and Jordanians deal with him. No one else has any standing in those discussions.
