340 N.Koreans Executed Since Kim Jong-un Came to Power

December 30, 2016 08:22

North Korea has executed or purged 340 people over the past five years in leader Kim Jong-un's struggle to consolidate his rule.

The Institute for National Security Strategy, a think tank run by South Korea's National Intelligence Service, said Thursday executions of officials have steadily increased since 2012, with some 140 high-ranking officials purged or executed this year alone.

Public executions of ordinary people are also becoming more common. The institute said more than 60 cases were recorded as of August this year, double the annual average since Kim came to power in late 2011.

The institute also said US$300 million was funneled into two nuclear tests and more than 20 ballistic missile launches this year.

Over the past five years, an estimated $180 million has been poured into erecting more than 450 statues of the Kim family.

But the next twelve months could prove turbulent as the institute forecasts increased domestic instability due to international sanctions and growing poverty.

You know, that is what is actually happening in N. Korea. Officials dread promotion beyond a certain level. Once you are promoted into a high position with real responsibilities, your life expectancy suddenly drops.

The fact that they are standig in front of a mig 21 just kinda ruins it. Not exactly cutting edge.

Maybe. Do we REALLY know this???????

The propaganda about this guy is the same as his father and grandfather (a real monster). Forgive me for being skeptical.

I don't want another war in Korea with thousands of US GI’s sitting ducks. The thing I like about Trump is that he MAY reign in the war mongers.

Piker. Red China has executed thousands, if not tens of thousands of people, many totally innocent of anything (i.e. the Falun Gong movement).

Now, if you are just talking about Kim’s purges of the Communist Party/Military, then it’s a plus for all. Eliminating experienced “carbon footprints’ in the military and CP is a good thing. I say to “lil Kim”, go for it. The less reds in NK, the better.

It is the regular population that is in one nationwide gulag with no help in sight, thanks to Obama, Hillary, Kerry and the rest of their bunch of cowards in the State Department (aka Friends of Iran and Friends of Kim).

It is only going to get worse for all the people of Asia and even the US with psychopath Kim on the loose. Hope Trump has the wisdom and balls to come up with a plan to put the little prick back in a box. A couple of calls tp Peking would do it.

He also needs to spread the dough and share the loot. If he uses only sticks without much carrot, it could become ineffective.

He lately has a problem in getting enough money to spread around. International climate is seriously deteriorating. Many countries stop doing any business with them. N. Korea used to earn hard currency by renting their workers as slave labor. They toiled in sweatshop factories and construction sites. They are now being sent back.

To make up for the shortfall, he is leaning hard on remaining N. Korean outfit overseas to meet the raised quota of hard currency revenue. This has become a factor in some recent defection of N. Korean officials or elites. They can't meet the assigned quota and start to fear that they will be recalled and punished.

Purge drive is not uncommon in the country. It is usually the pace and scope which vary. Due to his age and lack of experience, I think that he is doing it more and faster. What his father and grandfather did over a decade or more, he is doing it in a few years.

What concerns us is how unstable the whole situation is. When even insiders have trouble figuring out where the purge is heading, putting everybody on the edge, and he goes full throttle in his nuclear program, he is making the situation unstable.

It is mostly up to China to determine which way this problem will be heading. Even shutting down oil supply for a few months will have real impact, but they are keeping N. Korea alive. In a way, the real problem is not N. Korea but China. Everybody knows it but pretends that N. Korean problem is an separate issue.

So Trump can indeed tackle this problem without going into a full-scale war by taking on China on trade issue and attaching N. Korean problem as a side package.

But I get a sense that it will scare more Americans than going to war with N. Korea, not because China is a bigger military power, but they fear that their meal ticket will be somehow in jeopardy.

I still think that ballot stuffing should be a capital offense since it is an attempt to take over a nation by criminal means.

As the Democrats are so protective of those means by which their voters can stuff ballot boxes (and those who conspire to lead persons to stuff ballots), they knowingly support this fraud.

Imagine if Bill ayers had his way.....20 million in this country would be executed.

To hear Robert F. Kennedy Junior calling "climate change deniers" "Traitors", we may still someday see the far left extremists lining up the hold outs and executing them/us as enemies of the State merely for thoughts and words and dissent.

Voting illegally should rate a 5 year stay in a federal prison.
No parole.
