Nope. Empowering corrupt and statist legislatures to select our U.S. Senators for us will not restore the Republic. This was an utter failure by the early part of the 19th century and it won’t miraculously change 200 years later.

The 17th Amendment concentrated power in Washington.

The Senators now represent Washington to the states, not the States representative to Washington.

A subtle but important distinction.
