Article misses some very important demographic points.
Reform, Secular, and Conservative Israeli women have a typical western birthrate of less than 2 children per family. But Orthodox Jewish women have a much higher birthrate.
Ultra-Orthodox 6.72
Modern Orthodox 3.39
Conservative 1.74
Reform 1.36
Secular 1.29
And while the Arab birthrate is high, that only applies to Gaza and the West Bank. In other Arab nation, the birthrate has fallen to almost western levels.
This means that for the future, with all Orthodox having a combined birthrate of a little over 5.0 children per family, this means close to a generational *doubling* of the number of Orthodox Jews. They will more than replace the Conservative, Reform, and Secular Jews as their numbers dwindle.
Right now, all Orthodox Jews in Israel are about 20% of the total.
WOOOOHOOOO! Keep it up, guys.
